Rebecca, Shay, Charlotte and Emilia are the 4 main characters in the film. Margaret will be the elder woman who tells the story.
(All in the tent when Emilia wakes up)
Emilia: Guys! Has anyone seen Becca?
Shay: Huh? I thought she was right next to you!
Charlotte: Whats happening? Hey! Its Becca's Phone.
Shay: Quick, pass it to me!
(Charlotte picks up the phone and hands it to Shay)
Shay: (Screams) Oh. My. God.
Emilia: What?
(Emilia drops the phone)
(Camera turns to show the phone)
Margaret: (Softly) I remember when I was 19. It was all over the news. (Shows the news article) "Young girl dies at the age of 14." (Shows establishing shot of woods) That woods is haunted by all the girls he has killed. (Extreme close up of lips) He is said to be in there still.
Rebecca: We have to go check this out!
Emilia: (Hastily) I don't think that's a good idea Becca.
Rebecca: Only because you are a scared! Come on Lottie, what do you think?
Charlotte: Yeah, we could camp!
Shay: Maybe it would be fun
Rebecca: Right! This weekend then?
(All girls shown at Shay's house again where they have all their camping things. Charlotte grabs her camera and starts recording)
Charlotte: So we are going on a camping trip this weekend (Camera shows from their point of view) I'm with the girls and we are just heading out. We are taking the camera in case we capture this killer.
(Change in scene. Girls setting up their tent)
(All girls laughing and talking.)
(Snap of a stick in the woods which stops the girls)
Emilia: I know this was a bad idea.
Rebecca: Lottie and I will go check it.
(Point of view shot. Establishing shot. Camera will show the woods and the antagonist standing beside a tree.)
Charlotte: This is creepy!
Rebecca: No it's not. Stop being such a baby.
Charlotte: Oh shut up Becca.
(Rebecca looks to the floor where she sees the body)
Rebecca: What is that? (She points to the floor)
Charlotte: (remove some of the leaves) (Screams)
(Both character run back to their tent)
(Black screen with Rebecca screaming/ Production titles)
(rushing, the last 3 characters clear the equipment)
(back in the house)
Charlotte: What happened? What did you find?
Shay: It was Becca. She's....She's....Dead.
(all gasp in shock)
Emilia: I think I've had enough for one night. Can we all go to bed?
Shay: Good idea. We can sleep on it.
(Shay gets dragged off the sofa)
(Camera cut to the girls in the morning)
Emilia: This is way to scary! Where's Shay gone?
Charlotte: This is how that story goes isn't it?!
(Muffled screams)
Charlotte: Stay here.
Emilia: No way! We can't leave each other!
Charlotte: (opens the cupboard door) Shay!
(Charlotte removes the tape from her mouth)
(Growling)
Shay: Quick guys, go!
(Charlotte grabs the camera)
(Charlotte and Emilia run out of the room and head back into the woods)
(Entering the woods, Charlotte drops the camera)
Emilia: (heavy breathing)
(antagonist grabs Emilia round the mouth as she falls to the ground)
(Titles/Black)
(Antagonist picks up camera and shows them.)

Props of FIlm
We are going to be using the tree as a prop when the first character is laid against it where they are dead and at the end where another character is hiding behind the tree. This is a good tree to use because of the fact it is quite narrow and therefore can see what is happening both sides. We may have issues with this because of the background showing so much light but can easily be resolved by changing the time of day which we are filming. The camera we have has got a flash on it so if needed we can add extra light to our filming and improve the quality of the footage. The tree is situated in the woods where we are planning on filming.
The use of this pink camera will be shown when the characters are filming their video diary, which will make the film look more realistic and as though it is a true story. We are using this camera because the quality is slightly less that the camera which we have got for our filming in other parts. This is because the audience will be able to establish the difference between each footage. The characters will be using this throughout the trailer. The only problem which may occur when filming on this camera is that the lighting will be dark and there is unfortunately no way of brightening this until we come to the editing process.
We have a circle of angels which will be used as a feature in our film, especially when it comes to the part of the old woman telling the story to make it seem as though she is spiritual and holistic. The use of the angels seems common in horror films as a way of protection against evil, but somehow it always seems to occur. These angel ornaments will be shown in pictures, with added effects on it so it enhances the features on it. Angels will be used all of the living room of the house where the characters will later be sleeping because of it being in the same household of where the old woman will come. This is used again for protection against the antagonist which they will later discover does not actually work. Both of these ornaments will be used in the trailer through the use of photos.

This prop will be used at the front of the woods to show that it is unsafe and hints to the audience that the woods should not be entered. The cone is slightly broken which makes it seem more chilling as it is something that might have happened before which ended badly. The cone will represent danger, abandoning and scary which are all common in horror trailers. The characters will ignore this, as they are females in this they are usually quite innocent and run into danger, which therefore means that something will happen to them.

Location
We also took a photo a bottom of a wardrobe, clearly we would clear out the space which would be used for the antagonist area when it makes an appearance into the trailer,as it would only last for a duration of 2-3 seconds then the camera would cut out leaving an enigma code for the audience and will create a scare for audience. We will be putting one of the possessed girls inside there as well which will come and chase the others as it under the control of the antagonist, so we thought that this location would be a good idea as it an unknown area which lead to having something unexpected happening.
We will be filming along the stairs as this would be our main area for the chase scene. We thought that this would be a good place to film because there are corner which would create a small division when the chase scene happens between the girls and the possessed girls. We also decided to use this small entrance found further way from the forest as this would be used as part of the chase scene. We thought that this would be a good place to film as this entrance look would seem unexpected to the cast as they will have no choice but to go through, but will also show a division between the antagonist and the protagonists.

Film Treatment
A group of friend will hear about a scary story which happened in the woods. It will be historical and based on a true story, which will be shown through the use of pictures. The main protagonist, Shay, researches this story and finds that the woods is near her. She will then keep to herself until one of the characters notice something different in Shay and they find out what has happened. They will then start planning a camping trip to the woods where 2 of the characters will be hesitant to go and the other 2 will be willing.
They then attend the woods where they set up their tent and camping equipment and the 2 willing characters head into the woods to investigate the story which they have heard. They will then hear strange noises, such as crows, snapping of wood and distant screams. They will laugh it off and continue to look around the woods. Using a torch, they will be looking on the floor where they will see a cap, and want to look around for where it came from. They will find a hand beneath leaves and find a dead body. This will cause them to run back to the camping site and tell the others what they saw. They don't believe it and decide to go to bed. When they wake up, the character who found the dead body is missing. All their clothes have gone and the only thing which is there is their phone. The characters then see a photo on the phone and each time they flick through the photos, they see the character being killed. They then run back into the woods and find the character in almost the same place as the last body and then get chased backed to the camp site and pack up everything. The antagonist will be hidden and watch where they go. They all go back and stay at Shay's house. Match on action can be used as they close the door and lock it.
They will all go to sleep on the sofa's and on the floor and when they wake up, Shay has gone too, but the characters hear muffled screaming where they find Shay locked up in a cupboard. They antagonist will be in room where she is and threaten the other characters. They try and save their friend and when they do the antagonist will be angry and chase them back to the woods where one of the characters will be hiding behind a tree, thinking that she is safe when in reality, the antagonist is behind her and grabs her mouth to keep her quite.
The last character will go back to the old woman where she tells her what happened. The old woman will use cards to tell her what happens next and if she is safe, and as she turns them over, they are all negative and will end on her saying "Charlie, you're next!"

Interview with cast: Member 1
When choosing our cast for our film we decided to conduct an interview with them to find out a bit of background about them and there past experience in acting.
Hayley Knight
- Why would you be good for this role?I have seen that this role has a mysterious side whilst playing a role of an ordinary girl where the setting can be related to a camping scene with a few friends so its a more relaxed role which I would be interested in playing.
- What acting experience have you had that will help you with this role?8 years of acting experience with stage coach in leatherhead
- Have you considered how you could show the character successfully through your body language and voice?Yes, because I have played many roles before in the past, so I will be able to get into, as the protagonist is antagonist lead a similar role, to what happens in real life.
- Who is favourite actor? Why?Jeromy Irving took role of the "Albert " in war horse very well because he managed to portray a range of emotions and changing his voice to fit the setting in Devon. I found this very moving because the way he can adapt to different demands through the film
- In a Horror film trailer , what characteristics would you expect from the antagonist?
Questionnaire Analysis
We have conducted a question in order to find out about what the public expect to see in horror film trailers and get an general overview of what they like, so we can consider who our target audience should be for our own film.
From the questionnaire 40% of women aged between 16-24 like to watch horror films. This shows that its a stereotypically view that men and women would usually watch these types of genre films as horror films are aimed for both due to the conventions within. Horror films hold the conventions such as two protagonist doing everything together including fear which would entertain the audience and make them watch it further. The age range which this genre fell in our questionnaire were ranging from 12-25, this shows that horror film can be a friendly type of film as it something they will be able to enjoy whilst the content can be appropriate for them, and is enjoyable to watch. 20% of both males and females had chosen as there favourite genre of film suggesting that it shows that both genders would want a bit of scare as the storyline would be based on a true story which would make them want to go and watch it, as they would want to know more about the past. Also the age range for the horror genre was between 16-25 as from the questionnaire it showed that they would be most interested in these types of films as the content shown would scare them and shows that the film may have restriction on certain horror film due to the content shown, however parental guidance may be required for these film for children aged 13 or under.
Online Tutorials
This make up looks good for the part where the protagonist becomes possessed because of the white contacts and the dark eyes. This would be quite easy to achieve because of the way the make up looks messy. The use of the fake blood means that it would be affordable and again it uses white face paint and red and black eye shadow. This means that it is basic but still looks as though we have put a lot of effort into achieving the make up look. The dark hair will stand out from the make up because of how pale the face is. If we wanted to achieve this look exactly how it looks, we may have to buy a black wig but with Halloween near, it will not be hard to find one for much money.

Rules of Filming
The 180 rule
This rule states that there is an imaginary line on the camera and therefore the camera has to stay on that side of the line. If the camera went past this line then it would make characters look like they are talking to themselves. This may cause confusing in the audience. It will also contain jump cuts.
This is typically used between the conversation of two characters. The camera will focus on one person when they are speaking and then change to focus on the next person when they answer. This links to the 180 degree rule because the characters will be on the line. If the camera was to move on the other side of the characters it will make them look like they are talking to themselves.
The 30 degree rule
This rule states that following the 180 degree rule, the camera can not move less that 30 degrees because the video will be filled with jump cuts. However, moving the camera more than 30 degrees will also make the film contain jump cuts and will therefore look the film look fake.
Shot reverse shot
Match on Action
Match on action is used to cover a cuts. It helps to keep the film flowing and look more realistic. This will help draw the audience attention away from the slight cuttings and focus on the close up.
Rule of Thirds
This rule is 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines which all connect with each other to make a grid. When there are people involved with the rule of thirds the camera will usually be positioned at least a third or two thirds down of the characters face.

Certificate for our film
The certificate rating for our film would be for a 15 because the film will include of strong language and violence which would be more suitable for 15 and above as the content would be more suitable for them, as the film will show a lot of intense scenes where it will involve a lot of strong language which wouldn't be appropriate for a younger audience. However from the research a lot of horror films were rated as PG-13, so involves having parental guidance with children aged 13 or younger, but we decided that if we put it as that, it would change the audience to a family, which them would lead it to tangent of which may not be as intriguing for the older audience, as this means that the level of content my be limited. Films including The conjuring (2013), paranormal activity 3, Mama and the The women in black (2012) all have a 15 rating to there films
Mood Board
The picture of the 4 girls represent the 4 characters which we will have in our trailer. The man standing in the woods signifies the creepy man who will be watching the girls as they are camping, linking to the picture of the woods and the tents. As the female characters will be recording their own video diary, the camera represents this. The girl with black eyes shows the protagonist once she has been possessed and the house is where the girls all stay once packing up their camping gear.

This link is where we have found some good non copyright music which would fit with the horror genre and we could use in our trailer.
The first clip is called "Bent and Broken" where the music starts off quite low pitched and jumpy. This would be good to build tension in the trailer and to also create suspension in the audience. However, this music can seem quite like a sci-fi trailer meaning that we might give the wrong genre indicator. We could fade the music out just after the tension building part at the beginning.
The next clip is called "House of Leaves" which starts very low pitched but gradually becomes higher as it goes on. The violin creates a screechy high note which builds tension and the piano which is significantly lower plays quite slow adding in the tension and also creating a sense of fear among the audience. This would be good for a paranormal type trailer where the creepy happenings of the ghosts/spirits will go well alongside the music. Also, the added low drum rumbles adds in the effect of thunder which is often the type of weather that is expected in horror trailers. This is because they are expected to be dark so that they conform to the conventions of a horror film.
Next, the clip titled "Awkward Meeting" starts off quite slow paced where its predominantly piano which is low pitched. This adds tension to the trailer and will be good to use as the general background sound so that the tension is always there and therefore will engage the audience. As it is slow paced it adds suspension and will therefore mean that the audience are more likely to want to see the film. However, the music gives off a crime/investigation genre which means that we might give off the wrong genre indicator.
The next clip is called "Gnarled Situation" where it starts off with small beats of a xylophone and a low pitched background noise. This builds tension as it begins to get louder and faster paced. It sounds quite creepy which would be good to use in the woods where they are exploring what is going on. The sound of organs are introduced half way which gives off tension, further engaging the audience and making them want to know what is going to happen.
The final clip is called "Heart Of The Beast" where low growling sounds can be heard with what sounds like crows in the back ground. This is a particularly good soundtrack to use because of the use of the woods in our trailer. We are thinking that this would be good when we introduce the woods or as the girls are exploring further as it adds horror and tension to our trailer which is what we are trying to achieve. As it goes on, the sound increases, further adding more tension and building suspense.

Film Pitch
We will open our trailer with a green screen as this is a common feature which we found appearing in trailers. To open the trailer we are thinking of having an old woman dressed in a black cloak telling some form of a ghost story and using old photos, hinting to the audience that this seems like a true story. We will then have a long shot of the woods so that the audience can see the setting of the film. We will then cut back to the old woman in a close up to show her finishing the story. We will then fade this to a black screen where the production titles will be shown making this trailer look professional and clean.
We will then introduce our main protagonist and her friends through a video diary as they tell us the plans which they have for the weekend. This will then fade to black to show the change in location where they are at their destination, setting up their tents and a few characters collecting wood for the fire. The camera will move into the woods where the antagonist wont be able to be seen clearly but will be there when cutting closer to him.
A fade to black will then be used to show a change in time where all the characters are sat around the fire, continuing the video diary as an update. The antagonist will be shown behind them where the camera will then fizzle out as though it has broken, where the screams can be heard. A black screen will be used again where the words "The scariest film of 2016" will be shown.
2 of the characters will head into the woods to see what happened where they will come across a dead body under leaves. The camera will then follow them as they run back to the tent and cut to them packing it up. A cut will be made to show the house where they will talk about what happened to the camera.
They will then all be asleep downstairs where the protagonist gets dragged off the sofa by the antagonist/spirit. The lighting will be from a lamp so that we can still see what is going on but remains quite dark. This causes the other characters to wake up shocked because the protagonist is somewhere else. There will then be a cut to a different scene where the protagonist is locked in a cupboard. The protagonist will then look up where her eyes will just be white (this will be done using white contacts) and she stops screaming. The camera will then cut to the other characters as they all run downstairs, through a high angle shot. A low angle shot will be used to show the now antagonist standing at the top of the stairs. A chase scene will be used to show them all running back into the woods where one of the characters drop the camera.
Another black screen will be used to show the words "from the directors of The Lost Locket" showing that it is our production again. One of the characters will be shown hiding behind a tree thinking that she is safe but the antagonist is on the other side where he will grab her mouth. The title of the film will then be shown with the added clip where the antagonist picks up the camera and shows the face. Another quick black screen will be shown with the release date and slogan written across it.

American film studio owned by comcast (media company) and is Hollywood 'big six' film studios. Universal would be a good distributor for our own film, as they have promoted many popular horror films such as Ouija(2014). I think that this company would be most suitable for our film as content shown is similar and this company has many horror film which have been successful through it, so it would appeal more to the target audience.

Ideas for our trailer
Idea 1 -
Idea 2
Idea 3
- Main antagonist to be the devil.
- Spiritual family - Each room in the house has angels (for protection) Angel cards used as a prop, showing the spiritual readings.
- Main protagonist is not as spiritual and thinks that the idea is false.
- A group of friend somehow summon the devil causing him to be attached to the main protagonist.
- The main protagonist will be the one who gets possessed therefore causing harm to herself as well as the other characters involved, this will be done by the use of prosthetic make up.
- The idea that the devil will not be shown however is hinted at by the use of dark shadows and loud noises.
- Old photos may feature to show the family, based on a true story.
- Old woman telling main protagonist about her possession.
Idea 2
- Double take idea where the main protagonist is also shown as the main antagonist, shown different by the make up. (One looking innocent, other looking Gothic and creepy)
- The more creepy character will be the one who haunts/causes pain or fear. (prosthetic make up used to show any cuts or bruises)
- Creepy character will follow the innocent character everywhere like she is attached to the other.
- Male protagonist will try and save her however will fail as the darker character will stop it.
- Antagonist will be dressed darker than the protagonist to show the difference.
- Antagonist will act in a non humane way such as being jolty, and edgy and overall paranormal.
- Old photos used to hint at it being a true story, a common story line of a horror film.
- A group of teenagers go out to the wood to camp for a weekend away.
- 2 girls 2 boys will be the main protagonists.
- They hear something in the woods as they are sat outside their tent.
- All characters go looking where they find someone lying on the floor bleeding
- They all go back to their tent where other strange things begin to happen
- Characters will have things happen to them one by one by the antagonist who will be someone creepy, perhaps in a mask.
